    *D.R. Horton, Inc.*is currently looking for an _*Land Acquisition Analyst*_in the Operations Department. The right candidate will support the Land Team to source and contract land for the development of residential subdivisions and to acquire finished lots. This will includeconducting detailed market research, analyzing potential development sites, and assembling land packages that provide a full picture of a project’s viability. The ideal candidate isa strategic thinkerwith strong analytical skills, real estate market knowledge and experience in zoning and entitlements.

    *Essential Duties and Responsibilities*include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    * Initially investigate site characteristics, including current and required zoning, compatibility with land use plans, wetlands, topography, school districts, competitors, and proximity to employment centers and local services & amenities

    * Identify land leads through contacting brokers and land sellers, reviewing development websites, studying GIS and land use plans, driving areas, and researching available resources

    * Maintain a database of land sales data, employment announcements, approved new subdivisions, and other relevant data to inform the land acquisition team

    * Assist with contract prep documents and tracking contract milestone dates in Smarsheet

    * Complete write-ups and land packages for land deal approvals to Region & Corporate in a time sensitive manner including deal summary, entitlement status, aerial photos, maps, builder fit analysis, market comps, pro forma ad development/risk factors

    * Attend meetings with land sellers, brokers, and Master Plan Developers with the Land Acquisition team as needed

    * Collaborate with internal departments such as Planning, Finance, and Land Developments to ensure accurate and thorough due diligence and gain exposure and working knowledge in general home building practices

    * Conduct in depth Competetive Market Analysis (CMA) research to properly identify future community competitors, both new and resale home toinclude driving and alking new home communities

    * As needed, conduct ad-hoc analysis for the local and surrounding housin submarkets and assist in the preparation of presentations for the Division and/or Corporate

    * Work with the Land Acq Manager and Finance team to learn the financial underwriting of land deals.

    * Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner

    *Education and/or Experience*

    * Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university

    * One year of related experience and/or training

    * Familiarity with land acquisition, land development, real estate, and/or GIS research; or completion of coursework in a relatable degree program

    * Efficient and effective at multitasking and meeting deadlines

    * Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    * Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications

    * Proficiency with MS Office and email
