    AP/AR Specialist

     

    Compensation: $50,000 - $60,0000

     

    Employment Type: Full-time, Direct Hire

     

    System One is seeking an experienced AP/AR Specialist to join its finance team. This individual will play a vital role in overseeing both accounts payable and receivable functions while supporting broader accounting and project financial operations. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience in construction or a project-based industry who values accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

    Key Responsibilities

    Accounts Payable

    + Accurately process vendor invoices with proper coding and approvals

    + Match purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices

    + Handle weekly payment processing including checks, ACH, and wires

    + Monitor AP aging reports and resolve discrepancies with vendors

    + Collect and track lien waivers and subcontractor compliance docs (W-9s, insurance, etc.)

    Accounts Receivable

    + Generate and issue customer invoices tied to project milestones

    + Apply incoming payments to accounts and follow up on outstanding balances

    + Collaborate with project managers to ensure billing accuracy

    + Prepare aging reports and assist with collection efforts

    General Accounting & Compliance

    + Support month-end close activities, accruals, and reconciliations

    + Maintain accurate documentation and support audit processes

    + Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

    + Minimum 3 years in AP/AR roles; construction/project accounting background preferred

    + Familiarity with AIA billing, lien laws, and job cost accounting

    + Proficiency in accounting software

    + Strong Microsoft Excel skills

    + Detail-oriented with excellent time management and communication skills
