Job Title: Histology Technician

Hours/Schedule: M-F 2 pm - 10:30 pm

Type: Contract, Potential for extension or conversion to permanent

As a Histology Technician, you’ll support essential lab operations through foundational tissue preparation techniques and contribute to a safe, compliant, and continuously improving laboratory environment. Responsibilities

+ Perform foundational histotechniques including embedding, microtomy, coverslipping, processing, and primary staining

+ Operate laboratory and manufacturing equipment following detailed instructions and SOPs

+ Prepare and monitor bulk reagents; assist with preparation for complex techniques under supervision

+ Adhere to safety and quality protocols, escalate hazards or issues, and maintain compliance with regulations (OSHA, FDA, ISO, etc.)

+ Accurately document procedures, materials handling, and production steps in a regulated environment

+ Identify and escalate minor equipment, material, or safety issues

+ Maintain 95%+ internal training compliance

+ Participate in 6S activities and continuous improvement initiatives

+ Contribute to team meetings and provide input on workflow and equipment improvements

+ Support cross-functional collaboration to meet production targets

+ Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

+ High school diploma or GED required

+ Minimum 1 year of directly related histology experience

+ Proficient in embedding, microtomy, coverslipping, processing, and staining techniques

+ Experience operating laboratory or manufacturing equipment

Skills & Abilities:

+ Proficient in reading and following SOPs and production instructions

+ Familiarity with laboratory and manufacturing processes

+ Experience with SAP and Google Suite (preferred)

+ Demonstrated involvement in Lean/Continuous Improvement initiatives

+ Comfortable working in a high-volume, regulated environment

+ Able to use lab tools and technology with precision

+ Physically able to lift 25 lbs and perform repetitive tasks for 4+ hours daily

+ Excellent documentation accuracy and time management

+ Reliable on-site attendance required
