Description
This job is to do advanced work on repairs and maintenance for County buildings and property. You may work with a supervisor or lead a small team when needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work with a crew supervisor to do the following tasks:
+ Build forms for concrete projects
+ Pour and finish concrete (like sidewalks, curbs, and catch basins)
+ Remove and replace drainage pipes
+ Move materials from one place to another
+ Use a system to manage assets
+ Safely use power tools (like a jackhammer or saw)
+ Use hand tools (like rakes, shovels, and hammers)
+ Lay sod (grass)
+ Manage traffic while working (MOT)
+ Operate equipment (like a skid steer or mini excavator)
+ Other tasks as needed
Education, Experience, Licensing
+ High School diploma or GED and at least two years of general maintenance, construction, equipment operation, manual labor, or closely related work experience.
+ A valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
Supplemental Information
+ Basic knowledge of construction and handling materials.
+ Know how to use hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely.
+ Able to do physical work in different weather and outdoor conditions.
+ Good communication skills with your team and supervisors.
+ Able to solve problems and fix equipment or material issues.
+ It’s good if you have experience with heavy machinery and construction tasks.
Work Schedule:
+ Monday - Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., or Tuesday - Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
This position requires hard work and teamwork, and it’s a great opportunity for someone interested in construction and maintenance.

Retirees of the Investment Plan are eligible for renewed membership in the Investment Plan only. FRS reemployment rules apply for both.
