    Job Summary:

    Key Responsibilities:

    + The faculty member will serve as a primary care provider for a specified panel of patients. They will be responsible for managing their well visits, follow up visits, care coordination, chronic illness management, and treatment of minor and acute illness.

    + As the attending provider of a specific pod, the faculty member will provide clinical care for patients on their panel and same day sick visits. It is during these clinic sessions that faculty member contributes to the education of trainees, including students and residents. Additionally, the provider serves as "provider of the day" who manages questions from triage nurses, sign medication refills and field other patient requests.

    + Duties include the following: Teaching and supervising the patient care of students and residents, leading didactic educational sessions, and providing feedback to trainees on their performance.

    + Provider must be willing to cover evening hours when needed.

    + Provider will be expected to work 6-6.5 clinical sessions (4-hr/session) every week.

    + Patient documentation will be completed during administrative time.

    + This person would also cover after hours call approximately 4 weeks per year from their home.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Instructor:

    + Board certification in Pediatrics

    + Prescriptive Writing Privileges

    + Experience teaching learners in a clinical environment

    + At least 1 year experience providing primary care in an outpatient setting

    Condition of Employment:

    + Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado

    + _Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check_

    _Preferred Qualifications:_

    + _Graduate degree from an accredited school of nursing or physician's assistant program_

    + _Current PNP certification or PA certification_

    + _Current RN and APN licensures (Must have CO licensures by date of hire. Could be working toward CO clinical licenses during application process and registered with DORA-Department of Regulatory Agencies. No grievances filed with DORA or any other state licensing governance board, Medicaid, or Medicare.)_

    + _Current clinical expertise as a PNP or PA with pediatric experience_

    + _Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in advanced practice as a PNP or PA_

    + _Current Colorado Prescriptive Authority & DEA licensures_

    + _Current BLS/CPR Certification_

    _Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:_

    + _Must have some experience with pediatric patients_

    + _Capable of managing multiple patients at a time_

    + _Good communication skills_

    + _Job requires flexibility in both duties and hours_

    This is an Instructor level position, involving clinical work in an outpatient setting that also includes teaching and supervising the patient care of students (medical, PA and NP) and residents (Pediatric and Family Practice). This position primarily works daytime hours, Monday - Friday as a 0.8 full time equivalent. In addition, provider must be willing to cover evening clinic hours as needed (0.8 FTE/cFTE).
