Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Project Manager to lead and oversee multiple engineering projects (heavy industrial) on the West Coast. The ideal candidate will take ownership of projects in their entirety, working creatively to ensure the success of each project, while managing schedules, budgets, and scopes. This role involves interfacing with clients, leading a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities
+ Take ownership of projects and work creatively to ensure their success.
+ Monitor and direct work on multiple projects simultaneously as both a lead engineer and project manager.
+ Lead and direct a multi-discipline team of engineers and designers to meet customer objectives.
+ Manage small to large projects with engineering budgets ranging from $10,000 to $1,000,000.
+ Manage project schedules, scopes, and budgets, and provide status reports to clients and senior management.
+ Act as the primary point of contact for clients, offering solutions based on minimal information.
+ Lead internal and client meetings, both web-based and in-person.
+ Take ownership of weekly meeting agendas and minutes, communicating key project issues effectively.
+ Estimate costs of completing projects, including engineering, construction, equipment, and other related costs.
+ Manage and de-escalate conflicts with clients and within the project team.
+ Serve as the primary customer contact and lead discipline engineer on any size projects.
+ Complete engineering calculations within your discipline.
+ Demonstrate knowledge of relevant codes and apply them accurately to projects.
+ Develop engineering documents according to industry, project, company, and client standards.
+ Review drawings outside your discipline to check for interferences.
+ Interact effectively with other engineering disciplines and understand the overall project impact.
+ Collect field notes based on trips to client sites.
+ Consider the impacts of design changes on the entire project.
+ Effectively communicate design change impacts to other departments.
Essential Skills
+ Project management experience in engineering services, particularly in heavy industrial projects.
+ Experience in oil and gas, renewable energies, or pulp and paper industries.
+ Proficiency in mechanical engineering, process piping, MEP design, and HVAC.
+ Strong written and oral communication skills.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications, web meeting software, and PDF markup software.
+ Familiarity with Microsoft Project or similar tools.
+ Experience with Navisworks Freedom.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 8+ years of combined experience as a senior engineer and project manager on industrial projects.
+ Experience working directly with clients and developing projects from concept to construction, including start-up and commissioning.
+ B.S. in Engineering is required; mechanical or chemical engineering degree is preferred.
+ P.E. (Professional Engineer) designation is desired; willingness to work toward obtaining a PE if not currently held.
+ Ability to travel approximately 10-25% of the time, primarily in the western United States.
+ Strong listening skills and creative problem-solving abilities.
+ Self-motivated and able to work independently and lead a team.
+ Good interpersonal skills and the ability to develop strong professional relationships.
+ Commitment to continuous improvement of personal and team skill-sets.
Work Environment
This position offers a 100% remote work schedule with minimal travel required. Travel is estimated at 10-25%, with several short trips each year, none lasting more than a couple of nights. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $135000.00/yr.
PTO, Holiday pay (NY day, Memorial day, Independence day, Labor day, Thanksgiving and day after, Christmas Day, if holidays fall on a Saturday, company takes Friday, Sunday, Monday off). Medical coverage with company covering portion of premiums (benefits package on file, reach out for full coverage options). Dental, Vision, FSA options. 401K 50% match up to 6%. Bonus offerings depending on individual and company performance, can vary year to year on %.
9/80 schedule and salaried for first 40 hours and straight time for every hour worked over 40 hours. Paid for every 40 hours worked.
