Job Title: Process Operator - 2nd Shift
Job Description
The Process Operator will work in various areas of the Processes/Operations, depending on their training and qualifications. The role involves setting up and operating processing and fabrication equipment, inspecting and testing products, handling materials, and managing waste control among other tasks.
Responsibilities
+ Set up and operate processing and fabrication equipment on various insulation materials.
+ Inspect and test in-process solid insulating products to ensure suitability for use and shipment.
+ Handle and store materials using equipment such as hand tools, measuring and testing equipment, and personal protective equipment.
+ Operate the waste storage facility, providing direction to plant operators for proper waste segregation, labeling, and containerization.
+ Manage non-hazardous and hazardous waste control, including classification, storage, and disposal.
+ Control inventory of raw, semi-finished, and finished materials.
+ Unload materials and store them in proper locations while observing special precautions.
+ Maintain stock records and follow schedules, batch cards, and process instructions.
+ Set up machines by adjusting gaps, leveling rolls, setting speeds and temperatures, threading materials, and setting tensions.
+ Start equipment and auxiliary systems, make necessary adjustments during operations, and test materials to ensure quality.
+ Weigh and mix materials, operate equipment using various controls, and follow cycles while making adjustments to achieve proper results.
+ Unload equipment manually or with a hoist, dispose of materials properly, and record data as required.
Essential Skills
+ High School Diploma or GED equivalent
+ Manufacturing experience
+ Ability to read, understand, and execute process instructions, safety instructions, and operating instructions
+ Ability to perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
+ Basic computer skills including the use of MS Excel and MS Word
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Need to obtain and maintain certifications in hazardous waste handling and opacity reading
+ Forklift training will be provided

Work Environment
The work environment involves handling various materials and operating different types of machinery. The role requires adherence to safety protocols, and employees will be trained in hazardous waste handling and forklift operations. The position is on the 2nd shift.

This is a Contract position based out of Schenectady, New York.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.59 - $24.59/hr.
