Job Title: Operations Supervisor Trainee

The Operations Supervisor Trainee will be involved in day-to-day tasks related to the handling of various cargoes, assisting in stevedoring operations, mechanic shop activities, warehousing activities, and transfer operations between different modes of transportation. This role includes learning and gaining knowledge in terminal operations, port logistics, and operations management. You will work in a warehouse utilizing a forklift and in a mechanic shop to fix and repair heavy equipment. This entry-level position provides the opportunity to learn every aspect of the business and grow into a department manager role.

Responsibilities

+ Assist in stevedoring operations.

+ Handle various cargoes.

+ Perform warehousing activities and operate a forklift.

+ Work in the mechanic shop to repair and maintain heavy equipment.

+ Transfer operations between different modes of transportation.

+ Learn terminal operations, port logistics, and operations management.

Essential Skills

+ 3-5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, operations, or a related field.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in forklift operation, warehousing, or maintenance preferred.

+ Knowledge of maritime operations, port logistics, and stevedoring is a plus.

Work Environment

The work environment requires wearing warehouse-appropriate clothing, including jeans, steel-toed boots, and a shirt or sweatshirt without graffiti. Be prepared to work in both hot summer and cold winter conditions, indoors and outdoors. The role supports Maryland highways, particularly during inclement weather when reliability is crucial. Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 7 am to 5 pm, with some overtime available.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $56000.00 - $63000.00/yr.
