    Special Education Teacher in Palatine, IL

    Are you a dedicated Special Education Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity? Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a passionate teacher to join our team in Palatine, IL.

    Position Details:

    + Location: Palatine, IL

    + Role: LBS1 – Intensive Teacher

    + Caseload: 4 students (approximately middle school age)

    + Schedule: 37.5 hours per week

    + Duration: ASAP - End of 2025 School Year (High opportunity for extension)

    + Compensation: $55 per hour

    + Sign-On Bonus: $250

    Requirements:

    + Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement for K or 6th through 22 years old

    + Experience working with high-needs students

    Support:

    + Paraprofessional support provided

    Minimum Requirements:

    + Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred

    + Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations

    + Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred

    + State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred

    + State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred

    + State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred

    + Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred

    + Current CPR if applicable

    + TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

    + Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

    + Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

    + Must be at least 18 years of age
