Seeking: Engaging and supportive LPN for 1:1 care for elementary student
About the Role: We are seeking an active and engaging LPN/LVN to provide one-on-one care for a student in a school setting. This role is crucial in helping the student feel secure and enjoy their school experience. The 1:1 School LPN/LVN will identify and treat health disorders, provide instruction for general wellbeing and disease prevention, and monitor the student's physical condition, referring them to appropriate resources as needed. This position is performed in compliance with the LPN/LVN scope of practice and according to Michigan state education codes.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Provide one-on-one care to a student, ensuring their health and wellbeing.
+ Identify and treat health disorders among students.
+ Provide instruction for the student’s general wellbeing and disease prevention.
+ Monitor the student’s physical condition and refer to appropriate resources as needed.
+ Ensure compliance with state education codes and RN scope of practice.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Current LPN/LVN license for the state (MI) in which the nurse practices.
+ One year prior professional nursing experience in a school setting preferred.
+ Pediatric experience preferred.
+ Current BLS card.
+ Considerable knowledge of medical disorders and treatment.
+ Considerable knowledge of child growth and development.
+ Some knowledge of public health problems and procedures for treatment in coordination with other health and social service agencies.
+ Some knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations affecting the delivery of school health services.
+ Understanding of the school organization and the community served.
+ Must be at least 18 years of age.
