We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Intern to join our team at UPMC St. Margaret. This position requires a flexible schedule, including one evening a week (4pm-8pm), every third weekend, and 2 holidays per year. The ideal candidate will be in good standing in an accredited School of Pharmacy, entering P1 year or above, and have applied for an intern license. Responsibilities:

+ Assist pharmacist with medication distribution, delivery, refilling automated dispensing cabinets, and exchanging emergency medication carts.

+ Fill medication orders, maintain patient profiles, and perform prepackaging.

+ Prepare IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and controlled substance orders.

+ Assist with medication review, including computer order entry, monitoring allergies, enforcing formulary decisions, and evaluating drug interactions.

+ Complete departmental documentation and billing by the end of each shift (e.g., dispensing records, refrigerator logs, chemotherapy compounding records, billing, controlled substance delivery records).

+ Complete clinical workload documentation as required.

+ Use information systems, robotics, and other applications to prepare medication labels and assist with dispensing.

+ Demonstrate a service orientation and convey a positive, professional image.

+ Prepare drug information responses and medication use evaluations.

+ Maintain a clean, organized, and adequately stocked work environment.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.
