    Job Summary

    Merritt Island Location: Merritt Island, FL Position Summary: We are seeking a seasonal Overnight Camp Counselor to live on site at Mah-Kah-Wee and/or Riverpoint Program Centers from Sunday through Friday as assigned. The successful candidate will be responsible for the care and well-being of campers during their stay. They will attend and participate in pre-camp training, set up and clean up weeks.

    Job Qualifications

    Must be at least 18 years of age and have a High School Diploma or GED. • Successful clearance of a Level 2 Criminal Background Screening, the National Sexual Offender Public Website and completion of GSUSA Girl Scouts Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Course. • Previous experience working with youth in a group or camp setting. • Understanding of the Girl Scout Organization, National Program Portfolio, and a willingness to subscribe to the principles expressed in the Promise and Law. • Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid. Must be able to assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers and carry out all program requirements. • A willingness to live, work and sleep in a community environment within an outdoor setting. • The ability to work for long hours standing, walking, and/or sitting while being exposed to the sun, heat, wildlife, and varying weather conditions daily.
