ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
The Packaging & Deployment Team, in conjunction with the IT Patching Team, is responsible for the enterprise-wide distribution of applications, operating system images, and security updates as well as responding to all related incidents and service requests.
POSITION SUMMARY
An Engineer III is responsible for establishing technical standards of operations for the team. Assists the manager in defining overall team direction, control, and coordination, for managing and integrating activities across multiple functional areas, and for assuring that projects are meeting time, cost, and customer requirements. Serves as mentor to less experienced IT staff, providing assistance when required and reviewing their work as directed. Acts as technical expert and department resource for assigned area of responsibility.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Plans, designs, installs and quality assures all additions and upgrades to systems within the responsibility of his team. Maintains appropriate and current documentation, including configuration and change management.
2. Participates in the definition and budgetary estimate of technical architecture and
strategy. Ensures projects promote the approved plan for strategic growth and
positioning of IT.
3. Studies and recommends new technology for deployment into the existing corporate
and regional infrastructure. Researches and presents information and recommendations to management as appropriate in support of customer and corporate goals.
4. Prepares project status reports and report project status to appropriate management on a regular basis, including progress, achievements, problems, issues, solutions for and steps being taken to resolve problems.
5. Develops, implements and maintains the procedures, processes, and technology
necessary to provide enterprise technology management. Continually analyzes and recommends improvements to existing processes both manual and automated.
6. Responsible for performance management and capacity planning. Recommends
growth options for all assigned components of the assigned technology systems.
7. Proactively identifies process and technical improvements that will minimize incidents and disruptions, reduce costs, and improve capacity and availability.
8. Responds to and resolves assigned support calls. Investigates, resolves and documents
incidents and problems in a timely manner.
9. Acts as project leader on projects as required
10. Serves as “technical expert” for other IT staff on assigned systems operations
and management functions.
11. Maintains current knowledge of IT and healthcare trends. Recommends and supports PHS strategic initiatives.
12. Provides support for on-site and off hour availability on 7/24 hour basis as
defined by the needs of the customer and/or technology.
13. Attends meetings in absence of supervisor/manager.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.
This position can be worked remote.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Associates degree or equivalent experience in information technology or related field
Skills: Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manger or System Center Configuration Manager
Years of Experience: 5-7
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in information technology or related field
Skills: PowerShell coding, AdminStudio for application packaging, Active Directory
Years of Experience: 7WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands: Must be able to move about facilities and between workstations. Must be able to occasionally move, lift, and/or carry medium weight objects and materials
Salary Range: $57,200 -$139,256
