    The Teacher is the transdisciplinary team leader and classroom manager. They are the case manager for assigned pupils.

     

    CERTIFICATES:NYS Special Education Permanent certificate or Students with Disabilities B-2, 1-6, or All Grades oractivelyworking toward certification.

     

    A Teacher must be able to consistently and successfully perform the essential functions of the position.

    + Establish and monitor individual casebooks, data collection and charting systems

    + Manage behavioral challenges

    + Supervise and manage activities of aides assigned to the classroom

    + Assure that appropriate curriculum is established and implemented

    + Organize an effective classroom environment

    + Administer appropriate and effective instructional strategies

    + Coordinate and collaborate with Support Service Personnel

    + Collaborate and effectively communicate with families and external service providers

    + Demonstrate professional knowledge of children with developmental disabilities

    + Demonstrate professional writing skills

    + Assure deadlines are met
