    Position Summary

    This is a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track faculty position in Health Analytics (100% teaching, research, and service) at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics. The official course load is 12 credits, four 3 credit courses per semester. Reassigned time may be earned through research productivity and graduate teaching. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong interest and ability to teach courses in Healthcare Analytics, Healthcare Administration, and Statistics at the graduate and undergraduate levels, develop curriculum and participate in assessment, maintain an active research agenda, advise upper-level majors, and provide service to the department, college, university, and profession. Opportunities exist for optional summer employment through teaching, research grants, and other funding sources.

    Responsibilities

    + Teach courses in healthcare analytics, healthcare informatics, healthcare administration, and business analytics at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Engage in faculty-student collaborative research and/or global education and/or developing external partnerships; engage in program/curriculum development and student learning outcomes in assessment, and advising upper-level healthcare analytics and economics students (55%).

    + Engage in research and scholarly activity and publish in peer-reviewed journal at an appropriate level for an AACSB accredited institution. (35%).

    + Provide service to the department, college, university, and the profession. (10%).

     

    Knowledge Skills and Abilities

    Required Qualifications:

    + Doctorate in Healthcare Analytics, Healthcare Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Health Economics or related field from an accredited institution ( ABD with a confirmed completion date prior to the start of employment will be considered) with strong interest in the healthcare industry.

    + Record of excellent college-level teaching as evidenced by teaching evaluations or other relevant documentation.

    + Commitment to scholarly activity resulting in peer-reviewed publications in journals appropriate for an AACSB accredited institution.

    Preferred:

    + Interest in teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in healthcare analytics or informatics, healthcare administration, and business analytics.

    + Ability to develop graduate-level and undergraduate-level courses related to healthcare analytics, healthcare administration, or artificial intelligence.

    + Demonstrate ability to publish in peer-reviewed publications in journals at the level appropriate for an AACSB - accredited institution.

    + Demonstrate effectiveness of teaching in different modalities (e.g., face-to-face, online, hybrid)
