    Position Description:

    Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.

    Major/Essential Functions:

    + Provides direct patient care by evaluating, diagnosing, and treating the full spectrum of mental health conditions using a variety of psychotherapeutic treatment modalities within a multidisciplinary setting

    + Provides consultation to faculty and learners concerning clinical assessment findings and appropriate treatment plans for patients

    + Provides crisis-intervention support, as needed

    + Assumes professional responsibility for their clinical assessment findings, patient care decisions, and clinical documentation

    + Teaches and supervises psychology interns, psychology post-doctoral trainees, residents, fellows, and medical students in both clinical and classroom settings

    + Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship

    + Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work

    + Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complimentary to the institutional mission

    + Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations

    + Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures

    + Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility

    + Upholds and promotes the values-based culture of TTUHSC El Paso

    Required Qualifications:

    + Ph.D. or Psy.D. degree in psychology from a college or university that is accredited by the American Psychological Association

    + Successful completion of an internship in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association

    + Licensed or eligible for licensure as a psychologist by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists
