    Major/Essential Functions:

    + Provides patient care and diagnosis in Cardiology to newborns, children and adolescents

    + Determines nature and extent of disease or injury

    + Prescribes and administers medication

    + Supervises mid-level providers in the clinical setting

    + Ensures compliance with HIPPAA AND billing regulations

    + Participates in research and scholarly activities within the Department of Pediatrics

    + Demonstrate Professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Declaration of Faculty Professional Respnsibility

    + Participates in the education of medical students and residents of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso Paul L. Foster School of Medicine

    Required Qualifications:

    + M.D./D.O. degree or foreign medical equivalent degree

    + Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatrics Residency Program

    + Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship Program

    + Eligible to obtain a Texas State Medical License

    + Board Certified in Pediatric Cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics or eligible to sit for examination in Pediatric Cardiology
