    Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.

    Major/Essential Functions:

    + Provides inpatient and outpatient general adult neurology clinical services to include epilepsy/clinical neurophysiology services in the assigned neurology outpatient clinic, and provides consultation services in the affiliated hospitals

    + Provides direct patient care and consultative service to other medical professionals

    + Diagnose and treat adults with neurological conditions, to include interpretation of routine EEGs, ICU and epilepsy video EEG monitoring, intraoperative monitoring, and evoked potentials.

    + Supervises resident clinics and participates in the overall teaching program for the teaching and training of residents and medical students, to include the presentation of lectures

    + Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship

    + Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work

    + Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission

    + Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations and adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures

    + Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine’s Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Bilingual (Spanish and English)

    + Fellowship training in Epilepsy/Clinical Neurophysiology or a combination from an accredited program in the United States

    + Board certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology

    + Regional or emerging national recognition in the area of specialty for associate professor or higher level

    + Certification and/or experience in Epilepsy/Clinical Neurophysiology
