Major/Essential Functions:

+ Provides direct patient care services in the outpatient setting at the Family Medicine Center and other clinics, as assigned

+ Provides patient care and supervision of residents on the family medicine inpatient service and participates in the faculty call schedule

+ Supervises residents in the outpatient clinic setting and participates in the overall teaching program for teaching and training of residents

+ Supervises and teaches clerkship students in the outpatient clinic setting

+ Teaches medical students throughout the medical school curriculum as assigned

+ Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship

+ Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work and other administrative duties

+ Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission

+ Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine’s Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility

+ Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations

+ Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures

+ Upholds and promotes the values-based culture of TTUHSC El Paso

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Board certification in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine for the rank of Assistant Professor or higher

+ Additional training or experience in obstetrics for the candidates interested in practicing obstetrics

+ Emerging or established regional or national reputation for the rank of Associate Professor or higher

Required Qualifications:

+ M.D. or D.O. degree

+ Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited residency program in Family Medicine

+ Licensed or eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Texas
