Job Summary
Join the Novant Health Clinical Research Team! We are seeking candidates with experience reviewing patient charges for clinical trials. Clinical Trial or healthcare billing experience preferred.
The Clinical Research Billing and Reimbursement Coordinator’s primary role is to provide the daily coordination, monitoring and management of accounts where research charges related to a clinical trial are involved. This role will support administrative activities applicable to the establishment of the research study record in the electronic health record, as well as direct and monitor all research related account activity. The Billing and Reimbursement Coordinator ensures that all charges for facility and professional fees arising from clinical research protocol visits and services are consistently segregated and billed to the appropriate payer and/or sponsor, submitted with proper codes, modifiers and NCT number, and properly reimbursed, avoiding efforts in managing denials and mitigating risks of double-billing to both a study sponsor and an insurer.
Candidates can be located in the Charlotte or Winston-Salem, NC area. This is a hybrid position.

Qualifications
+ Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
+ Experience: Entry level or anyone starting with less than 3 years of direct experience.
+ Additional Skills (required):
+ Excellent communication skills required.
+ Excellent customer service skills required.
+ Must be self-motivated, able to work independently without constant supervision and a critical thinker.
+ Must be flexible, able to meet deadlines and adaptable to change.
+ Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
+ Additional Skills (preferred):
+ Clinical Research administration experience preferred.
+ Patient based billing experience preferred.
+ Medical coding experience preferred.
+ Ability to apply a critical thinking process to achieve a positive outcome.
+ Aware of HIPAA Laws, basic medical terminology, and Insurance guidelines.
