Come join a vibrant, interdisciplinary team serving the complex needs of adults with a dual diagnosis of mental health and substance use disorder in Auburn. We are looking for a collaborative, engaging, and driven Substance Use Disorder Counselor to join our team. This is an 8 hour per week position providing individual and group substance use disorder counseling to individuals at the Androscoggin County Jail.

DUTIES:

+ Provide intake/assessment when individuals are referred and ongoing assessment as required, including identification of physical health, behavioral health, and substance use disorder related risk factors.

+ Provide care coordination and support through phone contact, face-to-face meetings, home visits, and community outreach. Ensure that individuals are aware of all community services and resources. Assist individuals and families in accessing resources.

+ Maintain current client records and documentation according to Spurwink and licensing standards (i.e. psychosocial assessments, service plans, quarterly reviews, and progress notes) .

QUALIFICATIONS:

Maine state certification of at least CADC required LADC preferred. 1-2 years of relevant work experience required (i.e., substance use, mental health, social services). Must maintain required licensing and certification throughout the duration of employment with Spurwink in this role.
