From mixed reality and human interaction to natural input and beyond, XRTech is focused on taking new technologies from early concept to the product level while iterating, prototyping, and realizing the human value and new experiences they open up.The 3D mapping team's mission is to develop cutting-edge core technologies for 3D mapping and contextual understanding for metaverse digital twins. Our team is building large-scale persistent maps for AR and VR products at Meta. The precise geometric representation of the environment enables rich and consistent AR and VR experiences. We covers three pillars of work:* cloud mapping pipeline and platform serving various use cases* core mapping CV algorithm development including conventional geometry-based and machine learning-based Structure-from-motion (Structure-from-Motion), VIO & SLAM* large-scale mapping and maps management.

    Required Skills:

    Software Engineer, Computer Vision - XR World AI Responsibilities:

    1. Lead computer vision and machine learning algorithm development for 3D mapping.

    2. Develop state-of-the-art software solutions for high quality 3D maps.

    3. Collaborate with partner teams on sensor calibration, map quality assessment, and user experiences.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    4. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

    5. Expertise in computer vision, and machine learning domain knowledge in 3D mapping.

    6. Proven experience with C++ and/or Python, including experience with modern features.

    7. Understanding and experiences of 3D geometry, linear algebra, numerical optimization, statistics and probability

    8. Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams

    9. Master's degree in the following fields: Computer Science, Computer Vision, or Robotics or related

    10. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering

    11. Experienced in advanced geometric computer vision, computational imaging, large scale numerical optimization, state estimation, and sensor fusion.

    12. Experience working in a Linux environment

    13. Broad understanding of the full machine vision pipeline from sensors to high-level algorithms

    Public Compensation:

    $70.67/hour to $208,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
