    Job Description

    + Supports molding validation and production by developing measurement systems using hand–help, bench, or vision system precision measurement devices, including fixturing development and vision system programming.

    + Supports molding process development and related project tasks for new resin projects

    + Qualifies measurement systems using sound Measurement System Analyses (MSA) practices, including all applicable work instructions, protocols, and final reports.

    + Supports tool room and manufacturing precision measurements requirements as needed.

    + Develops measurement systems for reliable and repeatable measurement of key dimensions of plastic and metal parts, guided by blueprints, operational specifications, buy specifications.

    + Operates and properly maintains Coordinate Measuring Machine precision measuring vision and touch probe systems.

    + Programs Coordinate Measuring Machine systems to automate inspection routines as applicable. Designs and coordinates fabrication of fixtures as needed for measurement systems. Troubleshoots existing measurement systems, defines root cause, and adjust and requalifies as necessary.

    + Understands blueprints, specifications, and tolerances in relationship to dimensional characteristics of molded and metal components.

    + Author and execute MSA protocols, including work instructions, Gage R&R, data analysis, and final execution reports for new or modified measurement systems.

    + Provides data analysis using Minitab or other statistical software to define Gage R&R results for both system variation and percent to tolerance measures of variation.

    + Provides training and support to associates for new and current measurement systems. Observes all safety and environmental procedures and Quality System Regulations.

    + Performs process inspections and molding related projects as necessary.

    + Performs miscellaneous duties as required.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Associates degree in molding or mechanical engineering preferred

    + Will accept relevant experience in lieu of Associates Degree

    + Minimum of 1 year-use of precision measuring tools in a molding environment

    + 6 months-operation and/or programming vision systems for precision measurements

    + Six Sigma and/or MSA training
