Position Summary:
With direction from the Director of Philanthropy, develops and implements comprehensive donor stewardship and engagement strategy that provides experiences that are meaningful and compelling, with a goal of inspiring donor loyalty and financial support. Assists in the production of effective communications and reports to help ensure that donors stay connected and feel appreciated. Serves as the liaison for third-party fundraising events and internal campaigns. Manages special projects for the Office of Philanthropy and the Chief Philanthropy Officer.
What the** **Donor Relations and Engagement Officer** **will need:
Bachelor's degree in business or related field such as non-profit management, public relations, communications, marketing, or advertising.
At least 2-3 years of related event planning, fundraising, community relations or project management experience.
+ Project/event management skills with high level of organization and attention to detail.
+ Multitasker with the ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
+ Excellent customer relations skills necessary to work professionally with various levels of health system personnel, external customers, vendors and donors.
+ High level of computer literacy, specifically Microsoft Outlook, Word, Power Point and Excel. CRM database experience preferred. Willingness and ability to learn Blackbaud CRM and other platforms required to perform essential functions.
+ Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds in our community using excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Curiosity and a desire to learn.
What the** **Donor Relations and Engagement Officer** **will do:
+ Working with Office of Philanthropy colleagues, implements donor stewardship plan to showcase the importance of philanthropy at Trinity Health Muskegon, Shelby and Grand Haven (THMU). This includes communicating impact of giving, donor appreciation events and creating personalized and meaningful experiences for our donors, with the goal of building donor satisfaction and loyalty.
+ Builds relationships with existing and potential third-party fundraising event coordinators and sponsors. Serves as the liaison ensuring compliance with Trinity Health requirements. Assists with needed event communications, ensuring appropriate stewardship and expression of gratitude.
+ Develops and manages internal colleague/volunteer/physician giving campaign that fosters giving and builds and supports a culture of philanthropy at THMU.
+ In coordination with the Manager, Philanthropy Communications, assists with the development of collateral materials for all accountable projects. Contributes stewardship and donor relations focus to enhance comprehensive social media strategy that promotes effective stewardship, attracts new donors, retains and/or upgrades giving from donors, and showcases impact.
+ Recommends and implements new creative methods for enhancing donor/prospect experiences including increasing revenue, decreasing expenses, and targeting and attracting specific audiences.
+ Provides excellent customer service in person, via phone and e-mail. Effectively and comfortably communicates and collaborates with volunteers, donors, patients, vendors, various departments of our health care system, and community and business leaders of diverse backgrounds.
+ Handles special projects for the Office of Philanthropy and/or the Chief Philanthropy Officer that will require developing strong working relationships across multiple departments of the health system.
