Our team is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and integration of the avionics subsystem, requiring strong cross-functional problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills. This role includes responsibility for the design and integration of the flight computer and related circuitry.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

+ This position will play a key role in the design, development, integration, and test of electronic circuits for commercial human spaceflight modules including flight computers, power systems, and data interfaces

+ Translate high-level project and system requirements into well-defined hardware architectures working with cross-functional teams in R&D, mechanical design, software, manufacturing, and support

+ Responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimizing product schedules to ensure timely development, production, and delivery throughout the product lifecycle

+ Design single PCBs and/or complete instruments including FPGA, microprocessors, power, and analog components

+ Develop system level schematics for space rated aviation hardware systems

+ Rapidly build and test prototypes, debug, and prepare documentation for manufacturing, and support

+ Develop fault & radiation tolerant computing architecture for space applications

+ Perform system-level analysis including thermal management

+ Perform additional job duties as assigned

Education & Experience

+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college requires a minimum of 4 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and years of experience

+ Familiarity with data interface protocols and associated hardware such as Ethernet, RS232, RS422, RS485, I2C, SPI etc

+ Proficiency in digital circuit design, PCB layout, and high-speed signal integrity analysis

+ Proficiency with PCBA schematic and layout software such as Altium, KiCad, or equivalent

+ Knowledge of NASA & Commercial avionics standards such as (DO-254, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, etc)

+ Experience with test hardware such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, logic analyzers, function generators, electronic load banks, power supplies, power analyzers

+ Prior experience in design and integration of power systems

+ Prior experience in design and test of stepper and BLDC control circuits

+ Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task

+ Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation
