    Overview

     

    Providence Medical Center is looking for a per diem, variable shift PBX/Telephone Operator (PRN) to join our growing Admitting team, internally referred to as a Telephone Attendant in Admitting or a Phone Operator. A PBX/Telephone Operator handles internal and external communications for the hospital admitting department.

    Responsibilities

    The PBX Operator duties include, but are not limited to:

    + answering the switchboard and pages overhead

    + greets and directs people to the appropriate departments

    + monitors the hospital alarms

    + must be aware of the policy and procedures of all hospital emergency codes

    + ability to use a switchboard or phone system to manage multiple phone lines

    + ability to communicate with population served

    + shift needed: variable 8 hour shift

    Qualifications

    Education and Work Experience

     

    Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

     

    + previous experience in an office or receptionist

    + effective written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills

    + ability to multi-task and prioritize needs to meet required timelines

    + analytical and problem-solving skills

    + high school graduate or GED equivalent,

    Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

    + previous PBX experience

    + customer service experience
