    Overview

     

    Element has an opportunity for a **Fracture Mechanics Testing Technician** to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your technical skills and advance your career within a leading global Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) company. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, executing, and documenting mechanical testing procedures focused on fracture mechanics. You will work closely with engineers and fellow technicians to ensure accurate, high-quality test results that meet client and industry standards.

     

    Salary: $23- $28/hr DOE

    Responsibilities

    + Perform fracture mechanics testing, including fracture toughness evaluations, in accordance with applicable standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO).

    + Prepare and machine test specimens using saws, grinders, and other mechanical equipment.

    + Set up, calibrate, and operate test equipment and data acquisition systems.

    + Accurately record and analyze test data, maintaining detailed documentation and test reports.

    + Interpret specifications, work instructions, and technical drawings.

    + Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while adhering to all safety procedures and company policies.

    + Communicate test progress and results with team members and engineering staff.

    + Lift and move materials and equipment (up to 35 lbs).

    + Support continuous improvement and equipment maintenance initiatives.

    Skills / Qualifications

    + HS Diploma or GED.

    + Solid foundation in English and mathematics

    + Sound mechanical bias

    + 1 + years of experience in an relevant in a labortory, manufacturing or engineering environment

    + Experience of working within a mechanical testing environment is a plus

    + An understanding of a recognised Quality Management Systems such as ISO 17025 is a plus

    + Self motivated Technician with the ability to multi task, organize and work under the pressure of a busy commercial mechanical test laboratory

    + Excellent attention to detail

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills

    + A team player attitude

    + Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

     

    Work Environment

     

    The role involves handling and setting up test specimens and equipment, which requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or sit or bend or crouch for extended periods. Proper training, personal protective equipment (PPE), and support are provided to ensure your well-being and success on the job.
