    Job Type:Full-Time,DayShift

     

    Provides nursing leadership for a specific shift and unit/area. Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing processin accordance withapplicable scope and standards of practice.

    Core competencies include, but are not limited to the following:

    * Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient'scondition. Establishesa plan of care which isappropriate toproblemsidentifiedand involves the patient according to his or her capabilities and desires.

    * Supervises and mentors nursing and support staff during assigned shift.

    * Assistsin Determining staffing levels and assignments based on staff availability, staff abilities, census, patientacuityand work/patient flow.

    * Provides direct patient care as needed.

    * Floats between staff toassistwith problem-solving.

    * Takes patient assignments to meet staffing needs.

    * Evaluates the effectiveness of patient care andidentifiesany issues that affect desired patient outcomes.

    * Responds to complaints about patient care and relatedservices, andmanages through established channels.

    * Performs role-specific duties as assigned, including entering orders, performing admissions or discharges, and coordinating transfers.

    * Ensures staff has necessary equipment and supplies to provide safe, quality patient care.

    *Minimum Education*

    Associate’s degree in Nursing:

    • Preferred X Required

    Bachelor’s degree:

    RN License in the State of TN or another compact state

    The below certifications will be required at the time of hire:

    X Basic Life Support (BLS)

    The below certifications will be required within 6 months of hire or when transferring into a new department with these certifications:

    X Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
