Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Accountant to join our team in Union City, California. In this role, you will play a key part in managing accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in accounting and a passion for maintaining organized financial records.

Responsibilities:

+ Manage the entire accounts payable process, including invoice input, coding, matching, and payments.

+ Reconcile vendor accounts to ensure accuracy and up-to-date balances.

+ Work with other departments to resolve issues and secure required approvals.

+ Assist with month-end and year-end close by preparing journal entries, accruals, and AP reconciliations.

+ Maintain the AP aging report to ensure timely payments and compliance with terms.

+ Support cash flow planning by forecasting accounts payable obligations.

+ Identify and implement process improvements to enhance AP efficiency.

+ Provide backup support for payroll, accounts receivable, and general ledger tasks.

+ Handle special projects and perform ad hoc financial analyses as needed.

Requirements

+ Over 2 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting, preferably in a manufacturing setting.

+ Skilled in accounting software (ideally Sage) and advanced Excel functions like pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; relevant experience may substitute.

+ Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

+ Strong communication and teamwork skills for effective interaction with vendors and internal teams.

+ Proactive and flexible, open to supporting tasks beyond accounts payable.

+ Familiarity with GAAP and involvement in month-end/year-end close processes is an asset.
