Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Entry-Level Cost Accountant to join our client’s growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or professional at the beginning of their accounting career to gain hands-on experience while contributing to various cost accounting functions. The successful Cost Accountant candidate will assist in analyzing, managing, and reporting on cost data to help improve financial efficiency and support business decision-making.

Cost Accountant Key Responsibilities:

+ Assist in the preparation and analysis of cost reports, budgets, and forecasts.

+ Support cost allocation processes by identifying, gathering, and reporting on cost data.

+ Monitor production costs, labor expenses, and material costs to identify areas of variance and inefficiencies.

+ Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate tracking of inventory and project costs.

+ Maintain and reconcile cost accounting systems and ensure data integrity.

+ Assist with month-end and year-end closings by preparing journal entries and cost-related reports.

+ Support compliance with company policies, industry standards, and applicable laws and regulations related to cost accounting.

+ Provide support for internal and external audits by preparing required cost data and documentation.

Requirements

• 2 years of experience in accounting preferred

• Proficiency in accounting functions, including general ledger management and month-end close processes.

• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.

• Experience with budgeting and forecasting processes.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various teams.

• Commitment to adhering to safety standards and company policies.
