    What are your contributions to the team?

     

    + Perform precision deburring operations on a variety of aerospace components made from materials such as aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, and alloys.

    + Utilize a range of hand tools including files, scrapers, abrasive stones, rotary tools (e.g., die grinders), and specialized deburring tools to achieve specified surface finishes and edge breaks.

    + Operate and maintain bench-mounted deburring equipment, including vibratory tumblers, abrasive blasting cabinets, and electrochemical deburring (ECD) units (if applicable).

    + Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and process specifications to understand deburring requirements, tolerances, and surface finish expectations.

    + Inspect deburred parts using visual aids, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to ensure compliance with quality standards and dimensional accuracy.

    + Identify and report any defects, discrepancies, or potential quality issues to the supervisor or quality department.

    + Maintain accurate records of work performed, including quantities deburred, inspection results, and any non-conformances.

    + Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

    + Maintain a clean and organized work area.

    + Participate in training and development activities to enhance job skills and knowledge.

    + Collaborate with machinists, quality inspectors, and engineers to resolve any manufacturing or quality-related issues.

    + Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.

    + May be required to perform basic preventative maintenance on deburring equipment.

    + Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the manufacturing process.

     

    How to thrive in this role?

     

    + High school diploma or equivalent.

    + Proven experience (typically 2+ years) in precision deburring, preferably within the aerospace or a similarly regulated industry (e.g., medical device, automotive).

    + Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

    + Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

    + Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and process specifications.

    + Proficient in the use of various hand tools and deburring equipment.

    + Familiarity with basic measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.) with ability to lift and handle parts of varying sizes and weights.

    + Understanding of different aerospace materials and their deburring characteristics.

    + Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

    + Good communication and teamwork skills.

    + Basic computer literacy for record-keeping and accessing information.
