    This role will be responsible for leading a team to create and implement innovative training programs, leadership development initiatives, and technical upskilling strategies. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing training programs for a technical workforce, performance-driven learning cultures, and competency-based talent development.

    Responsibilities

    Develop Strategy

    + Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy aligned with M.C. Dean’s business objectives and workforce development needs.

    + Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of technical, leadership, and professional development programs.

    + Partner with senior leadership, business unit leaders, and subject matter experts to identify critical skill gaps and training priorities.

    + Implement blended learning solutions, including in-person training, e-learning, simulations, and on-the-job training to support knowledge retention and application.

    Technical Training & Workforce Development

    + Lead the development of technical training programs that support workforce competency and safety in engineering, electrical, cybersecurity, automation, operations and maintenance, security and electronics systems, and construction disciplines.

    + Drive NCSCB Medium Voltage (MV) Cable Splicing Certification training efforts, ensuring compliance and increasing certification rates across the organization.

    + Collaborate with internal experts and external partners to develop industry-leading, accredited training programs.

    Leadership & Employee Development

    + Design and implement leadership development programs that prepare high-potential employees for future leadership roles.

    + Develop mentoring, coaching, and succession planning initiatives to strengthen the talent pipeline.

    + Establish frameworks for competency mapping and career pathing within the organization.

    Learning Technologies & Innovation

    + Leverage learning management systems (LMS), virtual training platforms, and develop data analytics to enhance training delivery and measure effectiveness.

    + Introduce cutting-edge learning methodologies, such as virtual reality (VR) simulations, AI-driven adaptive learning, and microlearning solutions for technical skill development.

    + Ensure learning programs are engaging, scalable, and aligned with industry best practices.

    Operational Excellence & Performance Measurement

    + Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess training impact and effectiveness.

    + Utilize data analytics to drive continuous improvement and demonstrate ROI on training initiatives.

    + Develop and manage budgets, optimizing resources for maximum impact.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    + Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Learning & Development, Human Resources, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

    + 10+ years of experience in L&D leadership, including experience in technical workforce training.

    + Expertise in designing competency-based training programs for engineering, electrical, or construction professionals.

    + Strong background in performance management, leadership development, and instructional design methodologies.

    + Proven ability to collaborate with business leaders to drive enterprise-wide learning initiatives.

    + Experience implementing and optimizing LMS platforms, digital learning tools, and innovative training technologies.

     

    Certifications in instructional design, leadership development, or talent development (e.g., CPLP, ATD, SHRM-SCP) are a plus.

    SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

    + Deep understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and learning technologies.

    + Strong business acumen with the ability to align learning initiatives with the organization's strategic objectives.

    + Excellent leadership and communication skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

    + Analytical mindset with the ability to use data-driven insights to inform decision-making.

    + Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    + Experience in change management and driving cultural transformation through learning initiatives is an advantage.
