Job Summary
The Student Academic Success Center is pleased to invite applications to teach sections of a first-year writing course, both of which meet CU's General Education requirement for Written Communication. There are two sections available. One meeting on Tuesday/Thursday from 11am to 12:15 pm MDT with a Friday recitation meeting 12:20-1:10pm MDT and the other meeting Tuesday/Thursday from 3:30-4:45pm MDT with a recitation meeting Friday from 3:35-4:25pm MDT. The instructor will be responsible for teaching both the course and the recitation. The ideal candidate will have teaching experience and substantial working knowledge of how to support first-generation students to successfully negotiate the institutional barriers to success in higher education. The position has an anticipated start date of August 2025 for the Fall 2025 Semester. The Office of Undergraduate Education (OUE) oversees the academic undergraduate experience at CU Boulder, provides extraordinary educational experiences, serves exploring students and collaborates with a variety of units to ensure that students have access to the resources they need to succeed. The Student Academic Success Center is an educational opportunity center that is dedicated to the academic, personal, and career success of its students participating in the McNeill Academic Program, TRiO Student Support Services, Guardian Scholars Program, White Antelope Memorial and First Nations Programs, and McNair Scholars Program. SASC provides academic skill development, gateway courses, and wrap-around services through program participation.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
+ Teach a first-year undergraduate writing and rhetoric courses for the Fall 2025 semester
+ Train and mentor undergraduate instructional assistants who work in the classroom
+ Attend training in inclusive pedagogy
+ Complete early alerts and communicate with department coordinators to support classroom success and college retention

Salary is $8,313 per course.
