Astronics-PECO, located in picturesque Clackamas, Oregon near the foothills of Mt. Hood, designs, certifies, manufactures, and sells a wide range of products to commercial, government, and military markets throughout the world. Our highly engineered interior and structural aerospace products are supplied to the largest aircraft manufacturers and are installed in aircraft around the globe, and our military products are used in critical national defense applications. The Max-Viz enhanced visions systems (EVS) are designed and certified for use as an improvement to safety by a vast array of airplanes, helicopters, and unmanned-aerial-vehicles in the commercial, government, and military marketplace. PECO-Controls are well established temperature control devices designed for applications where high quality is a must, such as the hospitality industry, commercial cooking, and other critical applications.
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated **Generator Manufacturing Engineer** with a strong background in power generation, generator assembly, and manufacturing systems. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of engineering experience and possess a robust understanding of the entire generator lifecycle, from design to testing and final product delivery.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
+ Possess knowledge of power generation generators.
+ Develop and manage Generator Bill of Materials (BOM).
+ Conduct hands-on static and dynamic testing of generators.
+ Utilize solid problem-solving skills to address manufacturing challenges.
+ Develop and execute manufacturing plans using advanced manufacturing systems.
+ Drive key metrics to enhance Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity.
+ Ensure compliance with Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements.
+ Actively support supplier management efforts.
+ Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experiences:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent. Five to seven years or more of related experience and/or training required.
+ Comprehensive understanding of winding theories, materials, processes and their integration with other components at the generator level and final usage, preferred.
+ Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
+ Deep understanding of parts, processes, and testing requirements for generators, preferred.
+ Proficient in methods for electrical, magnetic, and mechanical measurements and their association with end-use requirements.
+ Strong general computer skills including proficiency with MS Office applications
+ Ability to perform problem analysis and problem resolution.
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
+ Good oral and written communication skills.
+ Ability to lead and drive issue resolution to accomplish objectives/goals
