    Job Description: Quality Engineer (Machining)

     

    The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring all products meet consistent standards and customer requirements. This role requires technical skills with quality measuring equipment, experience with Quality Management Systems, ISO 9001:2015 leadership experience, and core tools experience.

    Responsibilities

    + Ensure all products meet consistent standards and customer requirements.

    + Lead and/or develop Quality Technicians and Inspectors within a Quality Lab setting (5-8 reports).

    + Create and edit PPAP documents, including level 3 control plans.

    + Operate and/or program CMM’s, Faro Arm, SmartScope, or Keyence Vision System.

    + Utilize quality inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gages, and optical comparators.

    + Apply problem-solving techniques including 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone.

    + Implement APQP & PPAP quality planning.

    + Maintain quality documentation within the quality management system (FAIR's, PPAP, control plans, inspection reports, etc.).

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor of Engineering Degree (highly preferred).

    + Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a Quality Engineering role.

    + Experience with ISO 9001:2015 or AS 9100 QMS.

    + Prior experience in a CNC machining facility, understanding part tolerances, GD&T, and inspection procedures of CNC machined parts.

    + Experience with PPAP documentation, control plans, and process flows.

    + Metrology experience, including operating and/or programming CMM’s, Faro Arm, SmartScope, or Keyence Vision System.

    + Familiarity with quality inspection tools including calipers, micrometers, gages, and optical comparators.

    + Strong knowledge in APQP & PPAP quality planning.

    + Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

    + Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office).

    + Knowledge of SPC (statistical process control).

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $38.30 - $44.00/hr.
