    Overview

     

    Status: Seasonal, Full-time (July 15, 2025 – August 08, 2025)

     

    Rate of Pay: $2700 per season plus room and board

     

    Scope of Position: Assist with cleaning the Lodge and servi ng food to all campers, staff, and guests.

    Responsibilities

    + Serve as a positive and professional representative of The Salvation Army.

    + Maintain positive relationships with employees and guests.

    + Assist with routine sanitation, set-up, and clean-up of assigned areas.

    + Clean and maintain assigned areas in a neat and organized manner.

    + Clean, mop, and stock bathrooms with necessary supplies (toilet paper, paper towels, soap, trash bags, etc.).

    + Collect, wash, and redistribute all bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths in guest bathrooms.

    + Respect guests’ possessions and privacy.

    + Report and return any guest properties found in the rooms.

    + Report cases of property damage to the supervisor.

    + Respond to calls for housekeeping needs, such as spills and broken glass.

    + Perform detailed deep cleans when requested.

    + Prepare and clean up before and after each session by picking up trash, neatly arranging chairs, etc., in common areas such as the meeting room, lobby, hallways, and dining room.

    + Stock supplies as needed in rooms and the kitchen.

    + Maintain cleanliness and organization in the laundry area and closets.

    + Ensure that furniture, computers, etc., are arranged neatly and are free of clutter and dust in all common areas.

    + Help clean and pack up the Lodge at the end of the camp experience.

    + Assist in the daily operations of the camp food service.

    + Help set up, clear, and clean the dining hall before and after each meal.

    + Assist with food service, evening snacks, additional cleaning, and food preparation.

    + Clean up after all food preparation, including but not limited to dishwashing and sanitizing.

    + Help maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen throughout the day.

    + Participate in theTotal Camping Program.

    + Help with program activities as assigned.

    + Abide by the Camp’s Personnel Policies and Practices as outlined in the Camp Staff Manual, including the requirements that staff leave the campgrounds during staff breaks between camping periods. Smoking, drinking of alcoholic beverages, use of illegal drugs, and/or immoral conduct during the period of this agreement will be grounds for immediate dismissal.

    + Strive to be a personal example in conduct, conversation, and attitude consistent with established policies and procedures.

    Qualifications

    + A high school diploma or equivalent and must be 18 years old.

    + QFO (qualified food operator)/ServeSafe certification is required or willing to obtain once hired.

    + Proven experience as a cleaner or housekeeper is preferred.

    + A positive, can-do attitude.

    + Ability to communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions.

    + Ability to maintain confidentiality.

    + Ability to safely and correctly clean with solid attention to detail.

    + Ability to safely and adequately use kitchen and cleaning equipment.

    + Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

    + Ability to work with little supervision and maintain high performance and professionalism.

    + Experience working in a camp kitchen or other institution is preferred.

    + Self-motivated and dependable.

    + Strong time-management skills.

    + Must complete KeepSAfe and other training requirements upon hire.

    + Must embrace, support, and reflect well on The Salvation Army’s mission and values.

    + Will understand, respect, and promote the interest of The Salvation Army. The individual is not required to embrace the tenets of faith, but they are required to promote and respect the mission of The Salvation Army.
