    Description:

    General Summary

    Assist guests in the proper use of pool facilities and equipment. Monitor activities in swimming areas to prevent accidents and to provide a safe and healthy aquatic environment for hotel guests. Maintains cleanliness of pool deck area and provides excellent guest service. Handle any emergencies as appropriate.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

     

    + Maintains supervision of the pool, ensuring the safety of the pool area.

    + Appropriately addresses any issues, concerns or rule violations with guests.

    + Recognizes and responds effectively to all emergencies.

    + Enforces all facility rules and regulations.

    + Maintains a clean and attractive pool environment.

    + Reports any unsafe conditions to the pool manager or lead lifeguard.

    + Performs on poolside stage with games and activities for guests.

    + Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

    + Provide outstanding guest service to all internal and external guests.

    Requirements:

    Job Specifications – Qualifications

     

    + Must be at least 16 years of age.

    + One to three months of related experience or training preferred.

    + Must have excellent guest service skills.

    + Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally.

    + Ability to remain calm and make appropriate decisions in emergency situations.

    + Ability to effectively communicate in both one-on-one and group settings.

    + Must be able to obtain and maintain all cards required by the company.

    + Must be able to verify right to work in the U.S.

    Working Conditions – Physical Requirements

    + Frequently walk, stand or stoop (over 75% of the time).

    + Ability to walk and/or run on slippery surfaces (over 75% of the time).

    + Regularly lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 25 lbs. (50% of the time).

    + Occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 200 lbs.

    + Speech, hearing, literacy, and vision (critical).

    + Ability to tolerate moderate noise levels and extreme weather conditions (over 75% of the time).

    Required Work Cards

    + CPR and First-Aid certification

    + Lifeguard certification
