Operations Analyst

Job Description:
Provide technical systems and software support for modification, implementation, or conversion of business systems. Translates business needs into technical requirements and ensures all systems support and conform to business needs and specifications. Acts as liaison between business unit and software, hardware developers and vendors. Proficient to work fairly independently on the most complex projects, and often on multiple phases. Working knowledge of business or function for which application or system is designed. Often responsible for the completion of a component of a project. Provides guidance and check the work of less experienced associates. IT degree preferred or substantially equivalent experience. Typically requires a minimum of 3-5 years of applicable experience.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews and updates published interest rates throughout work week according to pre-determined calendar. Analyst is responsible for obtaining rate data and keying into system as well as analysis, research, and resolution of issues brought to attention by business or found during daily process. Accuracy in keying and awareness of irregularities or discrepancies is of utmost importance. Applications supported include web based and mainframe. Responsible for tracking issues by following documented process and procedures and meeting service level agreements. Works with a partner on a daily basis. Must accept and learn from constructive feedback. Working knowledge of basic banking/interest calculation, function for which application or system is designed and strong accuracy, analytical and reasoning skills. Analyst is responsible for assisting users to resolve system and business process questions and issues related to specific applications.
•Perform routine function of reviewing published rates, documenting, verifying data obtained, keying into loan system, reviewing and documenting all required rates managed for particular day.
•Ensures user sat by providing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting & quickly resolving routine problems.
•Excellent customer service & interpersonal skills with ability to build partnerships across all teams and levels.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills required (English).
•Ability to time manage, prioritize, multi-task and work independently, while displaying impeccable attention to detail.
•Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
•Should have increased awareness and exposure to basic technical principles, concepts and techniques.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
Required Skills:
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with demonstrated history of building partnerships across all teams and levels.
• A work history of clear and effective written and verbal communications in a professional environment.
• A work history that demonstrates a strong ability to manage, prioritize, multi-task and work independently.
• Prior work experience that required a consistent and impeccable attention to detail .
• Strong self-starter with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Prior work experience that required an increased awareness and exposure to basic technical principles, concepts and techniques.
• Must be able to exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
• Must be proficient in MS Excel. Must be able to create and edit basic mathematical formulas in Excel. Must be able to create and manipulate mid-level complexity tables. Must be able to copy and paste cells and have strong formatting skills within the application at minimum.
• Must be proficient in MS Word including the ability to insert tables in documents and editing documents at minimum.
• Must have prior work experience that demonstrates ability to document work actions.
• Must have basic mathematical acuity in the areas of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, creating percentages, shifting percentages to decimal-point numbers, rounding.
• Must be able to easily navigate between online databases and websites
Desired Skills:
• Previous system application support knowledge and/or PC support experience is preferred
• Previous experience in Bank of America business or application team preferred
• A basic understanding of interest points and the implication to consumers when there is an interest point change.
