    Salary: $1120 / Week

     

    Amergis Educational Staffing is partnered with a school in Whitman Hanson, MA, currently seeking a Special Education Teacher to work with students on a contractual basis.

    Details of the Position Include:

    + Location: Whitman Hanson, MA

    + Start Date: ASAP or ESY (preference will go to those who can substitute for the remainder of the school year and continue for the summer program)

    + Duration: ASAP - August 2025

    + Schedule: Monday - Friday: 8:35 AM - 3:35 PM

    + ESY Schedule: Mon-Thurs 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

    Requirements:

    + ASD sub-separate classroom experience

    + DESE Licensure Mild/Moderate

    + Bachelor’s Degree

    Description:

    We are looking for a Special Education Teacher to substitute for the remainder of the school year and continue for the summer school program (also accepting applications for just ESY). The position involves working with elementary-aged students (caseload of 7) within an ASD-focused classroom.

    The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.

    Minimum Requirements:

    + Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred

    + Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations

    + Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred

    + State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred

    + State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred

    + State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred

    + Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred

    + Current CPR if applicable

    + TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

    + Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

    + Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

    + Must be at least 18 years of age
