The Supervisor Respiratory Therapy provides daily, shift-to-shift leadership supporting the operations of the department to include assists with orientation of new employees and/ or affiliated students. The Supervisor exhibits excellence in clinical patient care, customer service, critical thinking, schedule management, relationship competencies, organizational skills and acts as a role model. The PCC demonstrates performance consistent with all professional standards of practice and care; mission, vision and policies of the Network. The Director/ manager has empowered this role with the authority and autonomy necessary to ensure the appropriate clinical and customer satisfaction outcomes as well as efficient and effective team processes.

Exceptional Skills and Qualifications

Applicants for this position should be able to collaborate with others in a team setting, have excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude toward problem-solving.

+ 2 year / Associate Degree of Science Degree from an accredited college or university in Respiratory Care or its equivalent (Required)

+ In lieu of the above education requirements, a combination of experience and education will be considered.

+ Certifications/Licensures: (Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) with Indiana Professional Licensing Agency (IPLA)) **(Required)**

+ 2+ years: Experience in General and Critical Respiratory Care **(Required)**

+ Proficient in Respiratory Care standards and performs duties of a Registered Respiratory Therapist.

+ Coordinates shift staffing and makes assignments based on acuity and skill.

+ Assists with orientation of new employees and students.

+ Updates and develops Respiratory Care policies and procedures.

+ Monitors staffing levels every four hours.

+ Provides input for staff performance evaluations and assists with financial operations.

+ Takes patient assignments and participates in regulatory data monitoring.

+ Supports staff in problem-solving and ensures proper documentation.

+ Ensures handoff reports are completed per protocol.

+ Investigates and follows up on incident reports and quality issues.
