Job Overview
The Shipping & Receiving Associate will assist the Operations Support Department in the day-to-day sample management receipt & inventory activities at the Agawam site.
Responsibilities
+ As the Shipping and Receiving Associate, you will be responsible for all sample management activities and inventory / sample receipts to and shipments from the company.
+ You will receive test samples, verify completeness and accuracy of the associated paperwork, label and store test samples, and log-in the samples for testing.
+ You will also be required to pack and ship material to clients while following all inventory processes and procedures with an emphasis on safety and accuracy.
+ As the Shipping and Receiving Associate, you will be required to participate in all physical inventory activities and logistics.
+ You will also be required to take daily readings on utility and facility systems and equipment.
+ You will be required to perform preventative maintenance on support systems.
Qualifications/Skills
+ Strong computer / data entry skills including Microsoft Office skills.
+ Familiar with IATA / DOT standards.
+ Shipping, FedEx, and / or UPS Shipping and 2+ years of stockroom / warehouse experience.
+ Regularly walk, sit, stand, and bend and occasionally push / pull.
+ Regularly lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
+ Hear, speak, and effectively communicate in the English language.
+ Able to lift boxes and general office supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
+ Communicate well orally for internal customers, external customers, and team members.
+ Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
+ Problem-solving / troubleshooting skills.
+ Goal-oriented and results-oriented.
+ Can work independently with a high degree of self-motivation.
Education, Experience & Licensing Requirements
+ High school diploma or equivalent with 1+ years of related experience
