    Position: 2025 Summer Intern – Operations

     

    Dates/ Duration: Summer 2025 (approx. May - September)

     

    Holtec Palisades seeks a highly motivated Summer Intern with the company’s Operations department located at Palisades Nuclear Power Plant in Covert, MI.

     

    Palisades is positioned to become the first nuclear power plant in the United States to restart after previously entering the early stages of decommissioning. By joining our team, you will be part of a unique and historic undertaking for the nuclear industry and the nation!

     

    In order to be considered, candidates must be actively enrolled in a college or university. Pay will be determined based on years completed.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Work with Nuclear Plant Operators (NPOs), Nuclear Control Operators (NCOs), and Senior Reactor Operators (SROs) to support the safe and reliable operation of plant equipment.

    + Support surveillance testing, periodic inspections, incidental maintenance, electrical switching, system alignments, monitoring of operating equipment, and clearance tagging

    + Assist with identifying problems, defects, and failures which degrade plant equipment integrity and reliability.

    Minimum Requirements:

    + High School diploma or GED.

    + Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

    + Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills with attention to detail.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

    + Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team setting.

    + Well organized and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

    + Professional and appropriate attitude, appearance, interpersonal skills, and work ethic.

    Desirable Additional Qualifications:

    + Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or an Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology.

    + Aptitude for mechanical and electrical components.
