Caterpillar Inc. seeks Embedded SW Sr. Engineer at its facility located at 10203 Sam Houston Park Drive, Houston, TX 77064. Responsible for directing and ensuring the proper concept, design, and development of Caterpillar Oil & Gas site solutions application software. Developing and managing projects in line with plans. Gathering and understanding the application requirements and translating them into technical requirements. Designing and developing product components. Organizing and managing testing of products. Ensuring product deficiencies are addressed. Drive product improvements in the following areas: performance, robustness, usability, field deployment, and collection of diagnostics information. Ensure organization's processes and procedures are followed. Troubleshoot system malfunctions to restore normal function. Support the application teams in software and systems troubleshooting. Responsible for providing subject matter expert support to the engineers on site. REQS: This position requires a bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field. 8 years of experience in an Embedded software development role using Matlab / Simulink or related occupation. In the alternative the employer will also accept a master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field. 5 years of experience in an Embedded software development role using Matlab / Simulink or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Model based software development using MATLAB/Simulink; (2) Build Simulation plant models in MATLAB; (3) Multiple subsystem control and integration in a multi control module framework; (4) Compiler and linker operation and configuration; (5) Software configuration management (Ex: ClearCase, GIT); (6) Data link protocols specifically CAN, J1939, Ethernet; (7) Software verification on Hardware in the loop test bench of machine subsystems (Ex: Engine, Transmission, Implement etc); (8) Software validation on production hardware (Ex: Engine, Transmission, Implement); (9) Configuration of hardware in the loop bench9. Build and Design harness for hardware in the loop bench; and (10) Lead the technical team in the design and development of solutions for Linux based industrial PC projects. Telecommuting: 2 days/week.

Summary Pay Range:

$149,947.00 - $165,840.00
