    Overview

     

    The Manager, IT Development is an IT professional who partners with IT and business analysts to solve business problems by delivering technical solutions that simplify and expedite business processes. They are responsible for developing and supporting internal products and services. This person will help to mature the solution development process within Motrex according to SDLC & DevOps standards and practices while balancing operational support and project work. The ideal candidate is adept at defining and documenting solution requirements, scoping projects, and overseeing execution and delivery. This person has experience leading a team of developers and managing a portfolio of active projects. He or she has experience in interface design and development and understands controls required for security and data integrity assurance. This person is familiar with the broader Microsoft, Java and web development toolset and provides coaching and counseling regarding opportunities for improvement offered by the toolset.

    Responsibilities

    + Lead a small team of developers experienced in Microsoft tools, Web application development, BI / data warehouse, and data management

    + Manage development projects and ensure adherence to SDLC and development standards

    + Define, document, and prioritize requirements from business analysts and other stakeholders

    + Track and report progress on work items and effectively remediate tasks that slip

    + Test and document completed deliverables to ensure effective deployment and usability

    + Remediate legacy application deficiencies

    + Manage and develop team members’ technical skills and process adherence

    + Support efforts to fully leverage and integrate Microsoft Office 365, Power Platform and Azure DevOps capabilities into business solutions

    + Define and execute a plan for migrating legacy solutions (e.g. workflows, forms, etc.) to SharePoint online / Power Platform over time

    + Monitor system and application performance metrics

    + Additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and company goals.

    Qualifications

    Education, Experience, Certifications

     

    + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other related discipline preferred

    + 5 years of hands-on experience building solutions within the Microsoft platform (Azure DevOps and Power Platform), including security implementation and reporting using BI tools

    + Experience in Azure services, custom connectors, and integration technologies

    + Understanding of security capabilities, including Role based authorization

    + Familiarity with source code control management tools, such as GitHub

    + Exposure to development of backend code and Web APIs using Python

    + Exposure to building pipelines, such as with Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Lake

    + Exposure to SQL DB in Azure environment

     

    Competencies and Knowledge

     

    + The ability to pivot quickly and rearrange work effort as priorities change

    + The ability to deliver secure applications through design, development, and support

    + Excellent time management and problem-solving skills

    + Project Management and facilitation skills

    + Understanding and experience with project management methodologies (waterfall, agile) and the software development lifecycle

    + Understanding of OWASP Top10 and NIST Secure Software Development Framework is a plus

    + Demonstrated leadership and the ability to provide exceptional customer service

    + A commitment to continuous learning

    Physcial Demands & Environment:

    + This position requires you to be on site at our Alpharetta, GA headquarters office.

    + Must be able to sit for extended periods while performing desk-based tasks and occasionally stand or move around the office as needed.

     

    Travel

     

    + Occasional travel may be necessary to fulfill business needs and support various projects and initiatives.
