Description
OVERVIEW
Cadrex is searching for a Machinist III who will be responsible for the setup, programming, and operation of CNC and manual machining equipment to produce complex, high-precision components. This senior-level position requires deep expertise in machining processes, advanced blueprint reading, and problem-solving abilities. The ideal candidate will mentor junior machinists, drive process improvements, and collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure manufacturing excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Independently set up and operate CNC and manual machines, including lathes, mills, and grinders, to produce precision components to tight tolerances
+ Analyze complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining processes and tooling requirements
+ Utilize precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM) to verify part dimensions and ensure adherence to quality standards
+ Identify and implement process enhancements, tooling advancements, and workflow optimizations to increase production efficiency
+ Provide guidance and training to junior machinists, sharing expertise and best practices to improve team capabilities
+ Diagnose and resolve complex machining issues, perform routine maintenance, and collaborate with maintenance teams for equipment repairs
+ Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards while maintaining a clean and organized work environment
+ Work closely with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to support new product development and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
+ 5+ years of experience in a machining or manufacturing environment preferred
+ Expertise in operating CNC and manual machining equipment
+ Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings
+ Advanced knowledge of machining principles, cutting tools, and materials
+ Experience with precision measuring instruments and quality control methodologies
+ Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
+ Leadership and mentoring experience in a machining or manufacturing environment
+ Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively

WORK ENVIRONMENT
+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.
