Position Highlights

Position Summary:

The Director of Nursing will lead all nursing operations within North Central Heart Clinic, a Division of Avera Heart Hospital. This position is responsible for overseeing nursing staff, nurse assistants, and related support functions to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, and alignment with the clinic’s strategic goals. Reporting directly to the NCH CEO / VP Clinic, the Director will work closely with clinic leadership, physicians, and departments, such as Echo Services and Stress Testing Services to deliver comprehensive, coordinated care to our patients.

Work Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 8-5

Education/Experience:

Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Dakota required; BSN preferred.

4-6 years of nursing experience

Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role, experience preferred in cardiology or a specialty clinic setting.

Strong knowledge of cardiology care protocols and familiarity with echo and stress testing workflows.

Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor, motivate, and support a diverse nursing team.

Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) and familiarity with healthcare regulatory requirements.

Licensure/Certification:

None required.
