RESPONSIBILITIES
JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performs microscopic screening of gynecologic (GYN) and non-GYN specimens and reports negative gynecologic cases.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Essential: finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.
• Continuous: sitting, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.
• Frequent: walking.
• Occasional: standing, stooping/bending, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, lifting and carrying usual weight of 1 pound up to 5 pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, frequent gripping of an object.
• Operates computer, calculator, telephone, fax and printer.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
• Work environment includes conditions common to a hospital/laboratory environment; including working around or indirectly with biohazardous materials, potentially hazardous chemicals and patients with communicable diseases.
• Generally works in an indoor, air-conditioned area.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• Current Hawaii State License as a Cytotechnologist.
EXPERIENCE:
• One (1) year recent experience as a Cytotechnologist preferred.
