    RESPONSIBILITIES

    I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or provider, assists in providing wound care services following department protocols.

    • Responsible for ensuring that wound treatment area is clean.

    • Performs various administrative tasks and ordering of supplies.

    • Performs duties in compliance with regulatory requirements and in accordance with established policies, procedures and regulations.

    II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Essential: seeing, hearing, speaking, grasping, fingering, sitting, standing, walking, twisting, reaching above shoulder level, forward reaching, repetitive arm/hand motion.

    • Frequent: sitting, standing, walking, twisting, reaching above shoulder level, forward reaching, repetitive arm/hand motion.

    • Occasional: squatting, horizontal lift/carry up to maximum of 35 pounds with assistance, floor to waist up to 35 pounds and pushing/pulling maximum weight of 35 pounds.

    • Infrequent: bending/stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, walking on uneven ground.

    • Operate computer and various office and medical equipment.

    III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.

    • Exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and communicable diseases.

    • Work environment can be fast-paced and hectic.

    IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

    • High School diploma or equivalent.

    • Completion of training and certification as a Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant or EMT highly preferred.

    • Current CPR certification at BLS/HCP level.

    • Current Wound Tech certification preferred.

    B. EXPERIENCE:

    • Two (2) years direct patient care experience, preferably in an acute care facility or specialized community setting.

    • Experience to demonstrate knowledge and familiarity with computers and automated systems.

    • Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

    • Prior wound care experience preferred.
