ABOUT OATH:
The City of New York’s Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings (OATH) is the nation’s largest administrative tribunal, holding approximately 400,000 trials and hearings a year. As the City’s central, independent administrative law court, OATH adjudicates a wide range of matters filed by nearly every city agency, board and commission. OATH also houses the Center for Creative Conflict Resolution which provides mediation and restorative justice support to City government agencies and the general public, and the Administrative Judicial Institute, a resource center that provides training, continuing education, research and support services for administrative law judges and hearing officers.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
OATH requires administrative support for the Human Resources Recruitment and Employee Services team. Under the direction of the Sr. Director of Recruitment and Employee Services and the guidance of the Recruitment Manager, the Summer College Intern will help support the recruitment processing cycle. Duties will include, updating tracking documents, setting up in-person appointments with incoming candidates for paperwork processing, organizing, and reviewing paperwork submitted by candidates, assisting with Traveling personnel folders (TPFs), providing support during civil service hiring pools, and assisting OATH employees with HR related inquiries such as, health benefits, employment verifications, etc. The Summer College Intern will gain valuable, applicable experience in the on-boarding process of incoming employees, and employee services. The Summer College Intern will gain exposure to various HR operations that are common across many organizations as well as specialized exposure to HR policies of the City of New York.
The Summer College Intern will be expected to report in person. The internship will be 10 weeks in duration, from June 2, 2025, through August 8, 2025. The intern will work a minimum of 28 hours per week and a maximum of 35 hours per week.
New York City residency is not required for the Summer Internship Program. However, interns must be able to commute to the office location for this position if selected.

Qualifications
As of June of the Program year the prospective interne must be a student matriculated in a college or be a recent college graduate (winter/spring term of the Program year).
NOTE: Appointment to this title is only valid for the duration of the Program, June - August each year.
