Job Summary
Oregon State University Athletic Training is seeking qualified applicants for an Assistant Athletic Trainer position (level 2 or 3) with the sport assignment of Football.This is a full-time (1.00 FTE ), professional faculty position. The successful candidate will join a team of Certified Athletic Trainers, Athletic Training Fellows and Master of Athletic Training students in providing comprehensive care for the Football team. This position is highly collaborative in nature, and benefits from the easy access and support of a multidisciplinary health care team.
Job duties will include but are not limited to: injury/illness prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation; practice/event coverage; and day-to-day communication with coaches, supervising athletic trainers, and other healthcare providers. OSU Athletic trainers are responsible for supervision of entry-level master’s athletic training students, assisting in the daily operations of the Athletic Training facilities and administrative duties as assigned.

TheAssistant Athletic Trainer level 2 & 3positions typically demonstrate expanding basic knowledge and skill in standard prevention, emergency care, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation techniques. This position follows standard principles and uses appropriate medical terminology, participates as a team member in a collaborative environment, actively contributes to completion of team goals and assigned tasks, and clearly communicates in written and verbal form. The Assistant Athletic Trainer complies with and has basic knowledge of policies and procedures and refers to supervisors for policy and procedure related decisions. This position typically works under direct supervision using established procedures and protocols and follows recommended approach to assigned work to facilitate achievement of desired results.
At theAssistant Athletic Trainer 3level, the position demonstrates efficient and effective completion of assigned tasks, advancing administrative duties and exhibits growing leadership within the athletic training staff.

What You Will Need
Assistant Athletic Trainers Level 2
• One (1) year of Athletic Training experience.
Assistant Athletic Trainers Level 3
• Four (4) years of Athletic Training experience.
Both:
+ Master’s degree.
+ Current National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification ( NATABOC ) certification.
+ Eligible for Oregon Health Licensing Office licensure
+ Certified Health Care Provider ( CPR / AED ).
+ Demonstrated ability to communicate in a manner that shows respect and inclusiveness for student athletes, student workers, colleagues, and all stakeholders.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
